For Immediate Release:

San Francisco CA, June 17, 2008. Gilbane Group Inc. today announced at the Gilbane San Francisco conference the general release of Enterprise Search Markets and Applications - Capitalizing on Emerging Demand.
Gilbane San Francisco takes place at the Westin Market hotel this Wednesday through Friday. Registration is available on site.

The 85-page report summarizes the marketplace in a way that helps buyers map their needs to search products that will deliver the most value in the shortest amount of time, at a reasonable cost. Additionally, buyers will find practical guidance about product evaluation, selection, implementation, deployment and maintenance. A vendor directory and glossary round out the content directed to new buyers. Search users who are expanding or seeking improvements to their current experience will find advice on making incremental adjustments in deployment. Vendors who are developing, selling, marketing, or supporting customers with enterprise search applications will find aids to competitive intelligence in the market landscape, directory and glossary.

"Search technology is moving out of its legacy roots into the mainstream of enterprise applications as scores of products aimed at a "behind the firewall" audience crowd the marketplace. But it is a learning process for early adopters as they work to ensure positive business outcomes.” Said Lynda Moulton, author and Lead Analyst for Enterprise Search at Gilbane Group. “This report is built on important commentary from a survey group, all with recent experience implementing current search products. The variety of approaches underscores that buyers are far from a monolithic group. I was struck by how every story has a different angle on the number of decisions and variables each considers to make "search" a winning business proposition for their key constituents.”

Availability
Enterprise Search Markets and Applications - Capitalizing on Emerging Demand is available at no charge for immediate download at http://gilbane.com/Research-Reports.html and this week at the Gilbane Group booth at Gilbane San Francisco.

Enterprise Search Markets and Applications - Capitalizing on Emerging Demand, was sponsored by Coveo, ISYS, and Vivisimo.

The Web Content Management track at Gilbane San Francisco starts off with a bang! Or at least a discussion, between the leaders of five WCM vendors.

WCM-1: WCM Keynote - State of Web Content Management
We open this year's Web Content Management track with a keynote panel of technology and market experts who will discuss their perspectives on the three or four most important concerns of business managers and IT professionals in planning for and executing WCM initiatives over the next year. The panelists are chosen based on their depth of knowledge within WCM and their ability to identify, analyze, and articulate what the current key concerns are for WCM customers. This interactive discussion will help attendees to identify and address potential liabilities in their own WCM strategies as well as to understand what leading practitioners and technology suppliers envision in their own project/product roadmaps.

CM Pros 2008 Spring Summit: Dynamic Delivery Across Multiple Media Channels

The 2008 CM Pros US Spring summit will take place on June 17, the day before the Gilbane Conference in San Francisco. Plan now to attend.

The recording of the Internet radio broadcast that Bill and I did last week with Scott Draughon is now available for listening and download. Scroll down to May 1 on the past programs page on mytechnologylawyer.com. The broadcast focused on hot topics at Gilbane San Francisco, June 18-20.

One highlight of the show is the segment with Bill Rosenblatt, recognized authority on enterprise rights management and progam lead on Gilbane's upcoming research on Enterprise Rights Management: Business Imperatives and Implementation Readiness. Bill provided an overview of ERM technology and its use for enterprise content, which will be the focus of a panel in San Francisco. Read more about our upcoming report on ERM adoption. There's still time to take the survey.

The broadcast also featured a segment with Brad Kain, co-founder and president of Quoin, who's talking about XML content strategies in San Francisco; a summary of our coverage of enterprise search topics; and a nod to the session on software-as-a-service, with senior executives of some of the leading suppliers of SaaS solutions for content management.

We'll be doing at least one more Internet radio show prior to Gilbane San Francisco. Please send us an email if there's a topic of specific interest to you and your colleagues.

Summit to Take Place on June 17 Prior to Start of Gilbane Conference; Full-Day Event to Focus on Dynamic Delivery Across Multiple Media Channels

San Francisco, CA – May 6, 2008 – The Gilbane Group and Lighthouse Seminars, today announced that the 2008 CM Pros U.S. Spring Summit will take place on June 17 to coincide with the fourth Annual Gilbane San Francisco Conference which is June 18-20 at the Westin Market Hotel in San Francisco (http://gilbanesf.com).  The CM Pros Summit offers attendees an in-depth forum for discussing the business drivers and technical issues of managing and delivering dynamic content.

Content Management Systems are viewed by many as being comprised of three predominant components: acquisition, management, and delivery.  This summit will empower attendees with tangible and tactical real world solutions for the delivery component of content management.

"The Summit program focuses on content management delivery and the increasing demands of content presentation,” said Andrew Wilcox, CM Pros Technology Director and Summit Program Manager.  “We have packed a one-day program with sessions that will deliver practical, real-world solutions and provide attendees with a competitive industry edge. The program includes 'Quiz the Experts', a lively game show format offering attendees the opportunity to ask questions of industry experts, and introduces the 'Use Case Challenge' where CMS vendors demonstrate their solutions for publishing content from one source to multiple channels.”

The CM Pros Summit includes users, practitioners and vendors of every aspect of content and digital asset management including: information architecture, usability, implementation, metadata and taxonomy, search, change management, software and tools. At the CM Pros Summit, speakers and attendees will:

  • Leverage best practices for dynamic delivery
  • Hear the latest research, case studies, and best practices
  • Share experiences with others and learn from peers
  • Network at the event
  • Identify next steps in content management implementations
  • Collaborate for solutions. Meet with partners, suppliers, and potential customers
  • Hear about new aspects of content management; drive new technology development

Keynoting the summit is Steve Powers, Senior Analyst with Forrester Research.  Enterprises are increasingly using rich internet applications (RIA) frameworks - such as Ajax, JavaFX, Flex, and Silverlight - to provide more interactive and dynamic customer experiences on their Web sites, and this has prompted many to question their investments in Web content management. In this session Steve will address how usage of RIAs may force organizations to re-think Web content management strategies.

“We are extremely pleased that the CM Pros Summit will take place in conjunction with our annual conference in San Francisco,” said Frank Gilbane, Chair of the Gilbane Conferences.  “Partnering with CM Professionals only increases the value we offer attendees in providing actionable information on current content management technologies that attendees can implement immediately.”

Attend the Summit and join CM Pros for $75, a 25 percent discount off the regular fee.  To take advantage of this offer, visit www.cmprofessionals.org and enter discount code: GILBSPR2008. Current members who renew before June 17 will also receive the discount with a year added at the date of renewal.  Also, CM Pros members receive a $200 discount off the cost of the Gilbane conference.
