... and radio! Mary Laplante and I will be on the MyTechnologyLawyer.com radio show this Thursday, discussing the upcoming Gilbane San Francisco conference. We'll be on the air live for an hour starting at 4:00 Eastern, and will be discussing a wide range of topics about the conference, with some focus on the sessions I am coordinating. The host, Scott Draughon, is a great guy and really does an excellent job interviewing his guests on a wide variety of topics. I will be doing a Webinar tomorrow with Jake Sorofman of JustSystems on this topic as part of the AIIM Wednesday Webinars series. Dynamic publishing is a well understood issue for Gilbane readers, but the interesting news here is that the technology continues to evolve and expand in capability. I'll give some background on the topic and discuss some of our recent thinking, and Jake will provide a snapshot of JustSystems' solutions in this area.

Prior to using DITA, Medtronic had a decentralized, heterogeneous environment that slowed production and resulted in redundant workflows. Seven project deliverables were developed in 5 different tools, and the mutually-exclusive tools allowed for little to no ability to achieve true reuse of common content. They now can reuse common content across deliverable types, which has led to great efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
