Press Release: Gilbane Conference on Content Technologies Washington D.C. Doubles Number of Government and Association IT Professional Attendees

Successful Event Attributed to Strength of Content Delivered by Leading Industry Analysts, End-User Case Studies and Focused Technology Showcase

WASHINGTON, DC - The Gilbane Group, Lighthouse Seminars and CMS Watch today announced that last week’s Gilbane Conference on Content Technologies Washington D.C. was a major success by delivering attendees and exhibitors alike a focused event that provided concrete lessons learned and best practices for industry and government IT professionals. In only its second year, the event doubled the number of Federal, State & Local and association attendees and attracted leading industry analysts and journalists.

The Conference, chaired by Tony Byrne, founder of CMS Watch (www.cmswatch.com), an authoritative, vendor-neutral source for comparative evaluations of content management and search technologies, featured many great forums for sharing and learning about the latest content technologies. Highlights of the event included the keynote panel comprised of industry analysts debating the future of content technologies, “Pump My Website!” - a session that pit three consulting firms against each other to re-imagine an association website and online strategy (winner voted by attendees) and “Stump the Consultant!” - a session that allowed attendees to challenge analysts with a content technology conundrum or content management project challenge.

“The Gilbane Conference series continues to provide us with direct interaction with companies and organizations looking to go beyond tire kicking but working to fulfill actual RFPs,” said Bill Rogers, CEO of Ektron. “In addition to speaking with potential customers, the events offer our team access to multiple industry analysts who share their insight with us on the latest market trends. The DC event was an excellent forum for us to showcase our latest web content management and authoring solutions to government and association attendees. We look forward to participating in future events.”

The conference planning committee led by Tony Byrne is now looking for speakers for the 2008 event. To submit a speaker, contact Tony at tbyrne@cmswatch.com, or send a proposal to speaking@gilbane.com.

“We recognize that the Federal government and Associations each have their own unique set of content challenges and requirements,” said Byrne. “With that in mind, we are building an event to provide these organizations with discussions around real-world best practices related to managing content. We look forward to coming back to Washington DC next year.”

Gilbane Boston, November 27-29, 2007
The next event in the Gilbane series is Gilbane Boston (http://gilbaneboston.com), taking place November 27-29, 2007 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Conference will focus on the broad range of content technologies available for enterprise applications, including widely deployed technologies like web content management, enterprise search, text analytics, and publishing. The event will also look at the use and applicability of newer “social software” technologies for corporate content applications, especially blogs, wikis, tagging, RSS, and .other collaboration and semantic technology tools.

In addition to the keynotes, conference sessions, and exhibit hall, Gilbane Boston has been home to CMS Idol, a fast-paced set of competitive vendor demos. Also taking place is the fifth annual CM Professionals Summit being hosted in conjunction with Gilbane Boston. The one-day CM Pros Fall Summit will kick-off with an industry keynote followed by roundtable discussions and workshops.
