SDL Introduces Enterprise Translation Management System

SDL International announced the introduction of a scalable system for enterprise management of translation memories. Offering the choice of working seamlessly with SDLX, STAR and Trados, as well as the new XML market standards, such as TMX and XLIFF, "SDLX for UNIX" is intended to be part of the workflow of global organizations. Obtree Enhances Support for Web Services

Convera's Screening Room Capture technology extracts visual and textual metadata from analog or digital video by controlling multiple subsystems for closed-captioned text extraction, voice-to-text servers, video analysis, manual annotation, device control, and timecode management. Documentum announced the availability of Content Distribution Services (CDS). Plumtree Releases Gadget Suite for Lotus Collaboration

Plumtree Software announced the general availability of the Enterprise Class Gadget Suite for Lotus Collaboration, which integrates capabilities from Lotus Sametime and Lotus QuickPlace into the Plumtree Corporate Portal. The Gadget Suite allows portal users to share documents, schedule projects and send instant messages within the same environment they use to interact with information and applications from across the enterprise. The Enterprise Class Gadget Web Service for Lotus QuickPlace displays a list of all QuickPlace workspace to which a user belongs. Users enter a QuickPlace from the portal, where they can collaborate through documents and discussions, and manage calendars and task lists. GE Global eXchange Services & Poet to Provide Hosted Catalog Management

GE Global eXchange Services and Poet Software announced that they will team to provide hosted catalog management services to Global 1000 companies. The services are designed to allow buying organizations to lower procurement cycle times and reduce overhead costs associated with managing supplier catalogs. XML Conformance Test Suite Released

W3C released the "XML 1.0 (Second Edition) Conformance Test Suite," built in cooperation with NIST and formerly hosted by OASIS. Pindar Systems Releases Agility
